my country is rich in bentonite resources, the reserves rank first in the world, mainly distributed in Liaoning, Guangxi, Xinjiang, Inner Mongolia, Jiangsu, Anhui, Hebei, Heilongjiang, Shandong, Hubei and Zhejiang provinces. my country's identified resource reserves are 2.793 billion tons, of which basic reserves are 808 million tons and reserves are 387 million tons. In recent years, the output of bentonite in my country has remained at about 3 million tons. In addition to about 300,000 tons for export, domestic consumption is about 2.6 million tons. The consumption structure of bentonite in my country is: 1 to 1.2 million tons in the foundry industry, accounting for 44%; 70 tons of drilling mud, accounting for 28%; 470,000 tons of iron ore pellets, accounting for 18%; and 200,000 tons of grease decolorization (activated clay). Accounting for 12%; other (mainly petrochemical, light industry, textile, agriculture and construction materials, etc.) 200,000 to 300,000 tons, accounting for 12%. my country’s bentonite is in a situation of “low export and high import” in the international market. It exports low-grade products (raw ore, foundry, drilling, low-grade activated clay, etc.), and imports high-grade products (washing powder softener, high-grade organic clay, etc.) Bentonite waterproof blanket, etc.). In recent years, the average import price of bentonite in my country has remained at about three times the average export price. Taking 2009 as an example, the average export price was about US$113.7/ton, and the average import price was US$295.9/ton.
The current situation of my country's bentonite industry is characterized by small scale of enterprises (there are only a handful of enterprises with an annual output of more than 10,000 tons), low technical level, because it is a resource-based industry, the competition is not very fierce, and the production, sales and prices are increasing year by year.
